How Rain felt when she had to leave Rose. Rain could go to her original family. She has to fight the sadness to leave Rose for her family. I wonder how Rain looks? How she acts? How she speaks? Really important, How she thinks?   Rose’s dad brought home a dog, it’s name is Rain. Rose loves Rain very, very much. One day on a stormy day, Rain got lost in the storm. Sending and Tchoukball Reflection

Image
      1. Write two things you did well when throwing the ball? 2. Write two things you could improve on when throwing the ball? 3. Did you notice any improvement? 4. How well did you apply your sending skills when playing Tchoukball? The two things I did well were pointing at the target. Also my feet where one was at the side and the other was in front. That is good.   What I improved in sending is moving my hips, instead of just stand still and moving my arms. This is so I can have more power throwing. Also, getting my hand to my pocket.  I notice that their was some improvement. The improvement was I was pointing my finger at my target so I get good aim, and have more power.   I applied most of the skills in Tchoukball. I normally have my hand higher than my head. I had a lot of power as well. So, yes I think I did a pretty good job of applying these skills in Tchoukball.

Measurement of Matter Science Reflection

Image
In science class we have been learning about measurement of matter. Now, we have just finished our unit of measurement of matter. This reflection is going to cover what new things I learned, what was the most memorable and meaningful and why? Some new things that I learned in this unit was a lot. Like  how to measure volume of an irregular object. Also, how to measure the mass of an object. Another thing is what is density. Finally, how to find density? I found out how to all of those at the end of the unit. It was very interesting how they worked, and why? I had no idea and no since I know I can remember it and have it for my life.  Though, the most important thing that I thought was how to find the volume of the irregular shape. Well, you can find the volume of an irregular object with water displacements. Their are two methods to find the volume of a irregular object. The first way is to get a graduated cylinder,  and the object. First you can put some water in the g...

Final Scripted Performance

I think I had pretty good projection when I was playing my part. It was loud but, I was not shouting it. I also think my audience could hear me clearly. My vocal variety was good but I could put some more vocal variety in, to make it more dramatic. Like go up and down with the pitch, put more emphasis in it also. I used my facial expressions well, but maybe instead when the other's are talking look out more to the audience instead. I liked how I pointed at myself when I said me. If I do face expressions and nobody see's me, then what's the point of doing the face expressions.  As a group I am proud. This is because all of us spent a lot of time working on it. Trying to get it as best as we can, and getting to be better all the time. One thing though I would change if I could do it over, is try to face the audience more when the other characters are speaking. We practiced back stage to help us ...

Fraction Comparison Reflection

Today in math class we learned a variety of ways to compare fractions. Their are three ways, one is to reason, another is to lower common denominator, and finally cross product/cross multiplication.       The first one is to reason. Well, when is it a good time to use reasoning? It is good to use reasoning when the fractions are easy, simple, and obvious.   An example is: 13/24     and    30/50   Well, we know 24 divided      50 divided by 2=25. 30-25=5.  by 2= 12. 13-12=1. So 13/24 so which one is greatest is obvious. is very close to one half.            So, the greatest factor is 30/50. Another method is, the LCD ( lower common denominator). When is it a good idea to use LCD? It is good when the lower common denominator has the higher denominator is one of their multiple. Basically sayi...

Sportsmanship - on the sporting field and in everyday life

Image
Sportsmanship means be respectful, being fair, caring, and a lot more things. An example of good sportsmanship that I've done was when one of my teammates scored a goal in floor hokey I said, "Nice shot, that was awesome."  Three ways I can demonstrate good sportsmanship is saying things like nice job when the hit a shot, I will not bragging if my team won, and when my teammate makes a mistake say it's okay, you did your best that you could do.  Two ways in everyday life I can demonstrate good sportsmanship is caring, like if I bump into someone I'll help them up and ask if they are okay. Also, if somebody drops their pencil, I won't steal it because that's not fair, I will give it back to them.  One new way I could do is say thank you after a game. This is because if they didn't play with me, this game would've never happened. So, I will try to say thank you after a game, or if anyone helps me out.

Cartesian Diver Homework

Image
In science class we have been learning about cartesian divers(dropper). How do the float, sink, and stay in the middle.                 Well, when you have a bottle, you put the dropper in. Though you first make sure that the dropper has a some water in it, this is so the dropper can float. If you do not squeeze the bottle then it floats. It floats when the the volume is more than the mass . Then the  density of the dropper will be less than 1 gram/cm3, the diver is   positively buoyant . When you squeeze the bottle a little bit, some more water goes into the dropper, and the dropper will go into the middle. It will stay in the middle because the mass is equaled to it's  volume.   Then the density of the dropper will be exactly 1gram/cm3. The diver is called  neutral buoyant , now. When you squeeze the bottle really really hard, it...

2014.15 SMART GOAL S-Specific  -To be able to memorize all the music for the concert. M-Measurable -If I can sing all the songs in the music, I can do this.  A-Achievable  -I will do 2 measures at a time, and practice it. Try to do about 4-6 measures a day to memorize the music.  R-Relevance -This is important so then I won't mess up in the concentrate, and I won't mess up the people next to me.  T-Time -I should finish this by the festival concert time. Reflection: I think most of the times I was using my head voice, and my hand signs were good, but got a little confused. This assignment was not challenging because I just singed it and didn't care what other people thought, I just singed. Yes, it was very beneficial. The easy thing about the assignment was singing and opening your heart to it. I felt like I learned a lot about the I can targets, I thought that it really helped me learn the  solfege a little more....

1,000 Lockers Explanation

Image
There are there are are 31 lockers open. These are the numbers of lockers open. 1,4,9,16,25,36,49,64,81,100,121,144,169,196,225,256,289,324,361,400,441,484,529,576,625,676,729,741,900,and 961. This is the answer because, first I drew 1-30, as numbers. Then I went through 30 to see which ones would be closed and which ones would be opened. They changed a lot, especially 30. After I did the closing and opening, I found which one was opened. This is because the question is which locker doors are opened. I saw that all the numbers that were opened were square numbers. Square number a the product of a number multiplied by itself.  Like, 6 times 6 = 36. So, I found all the square numbers to 1000 because all the ones that were opened for 30 was square. So, the answers is the square numbers. I observed that on the the first opened their is 2 in between until the next opened number, second is 4in between, the 6, then 8, so in those up to thirty it’s 2 in between. Another way to do t...

Swimming Reflection

Image
I was 7th in the first video for the 20 meter swim: What I did well was breathing from side to side, and what I need to work on is my shark fin, and maybe getting it a little higher.    A perfect freestyle is you always breath to every single side. So, when you breath turn to the side with head on your arm, then when you breath again turn onto the opposite side of the one you breathed on last.  Your arms will be opposite too, first one of your arms will be in the air like a shark's fin then glide into the water gentle an stretching your arm as long as you can. Your other arm will have to push the water and then it goes in a cycle. For your legs you will have to kick like you are fluttering. So, kick lightly, but just  enough  to make you powerful, and that's a perfect freestyle  stroke .  For my  biathlon  I  preserved  by saying, I didn't have much more to go, I can do this. I realized that if I wanted...

Volume is a the amount of space that a object takes up. Volume of liquids means the amount of litters in an object, and it is measured in liters. Smaller volumes are measured in milliliters. To find volume of liquids, you use a graduated cylinder and read the bottom of the meniscus. The meniscus is the bottom of the bubble in the graduated cylinder.   It is important to make sure you look at the cylinder and determine the graduates before you make a reading .

Math Reflections: Factors and Multiples

1. It is helpful because if you need to find common factors and multiples for to see what the LCM(least common factor) or the GCF(Greatest common factor).   2a. Well you can use the window method example: let's use 14 and 49.  This is the factors of 14:1,2,7,14  This is the factors for 49: 1,7,49 If you looks at them 7 is the common factor and  is also the greatest common factor.  2b. It gives that there is no other number that is higher then that factor. Let's use 49 and 14 again.  This is the factors of 14:1,2,7,14  This is the factors for 49: 1,7,49 If you looks at them 7 is the common factor and  is also the greatest common factor. 7 is the greatest common factor right? So, that means that no other number can be a then 7.  3a. Well list some multiples and look for the first least common multiple. For example: 12 and 4.  Twelve's  first 3 multiples is 12,24,36. Four's firs...

8 is Awesome Number!

Image
TEN is a person who is dying to hit the stage on day one of drama and would willingly perform in front of all of 6th grade right NOW!  ONE is a person who would rather be ANYWHERE but the stage and would prefer to be wrapped up in a blanket back in their bed hugging their teddy bear. On this scale of one to ten, I would be a 8 because I can't also think about an act off the top of my head and I would be scared. I am sometimes confident because sometimes I am nervous if I make a mistake, or even maybe they won't like it, or even I will forget something. When I was little I was a ballerina and I was a bird, and I was dancing. What I want to learn after drama is maybe being more confident and expressing your face because that is hard for me right now. What I want you to know about me is that I have always loved acting, when I was in primary school I loved to act. I was being Clara from the nutcracker, and I loved acting. I thought the emotions were awesome so I acted just like...

Drama Homework(Neutral Characters)

Image
I can hear them talking a little bit, it sounds like general noises, like in real life they would say those words. The main characters are in the centre of the camera, and the neutral characters are in a focus kind of way. The neutral characters are dresses in a darker colours and they don't stand out like the main characters do. Their styles have more patterns in them and more design, when the main characters have plain and a little bit of design. The director focuses on the main characters and show a little bit of the neutral characters to make it look like a scene. It is much more easier to focus on the neutral characters when the sound is off because they you can look at the neutral characters and not concentrate on what the main characters are saying.

Sprinting Techniques

Two things that I did well: What I did well were putting my arms at 90 degrees, and pumping my arms with a lot of action. What I need to work on is: I need to  run tall, and putting my hands to my chin level more.

Parent / Student Agreements

I am responsible to take my laptop home and back because I know all the lessons they taught me in bootcamp, and because I am a responsible person. I will make sure my laptop is charged every night because before I go to bed I will ask myself to look if it is charging in the living room. I will charge it in the living room in the study area. I will charge it after I brush my teeth and before I go to bed.

Laptop Care

When my mouth is dry and I need water, I will always drink away from my laptop. This is important because if I am near my laptop with my laptop and I spill my drink, my laptop will be ruined. If my laptop is ruined then I will have to pay a lot of money, which I don't want to do. Keep water away from your laptop.                                                                                                                                                                                                 ...

Don’t put yourself in risk Did you ever think that something will disappear after a long time and nobody will think about it ? Did you think that everything will be funny forever? Well, actually that is not true. It stays online forever and you can not really delete it off of the internet. Everything changes, even you. I am talking about don’t put yourself at risk for your future. Picture from  commons.wikimedia.org From creative commons First thing is before you post think about it. Is this a good idea? Will it affect my life in the future?  If you don’t think before you post then things could happen in the future. As in when you are trying to get a job, your boss types your name and looks online. The boss notices what you posted and doesn’t want to hire you for what you posted online. So many things could happen if you don’t think before you post. Second thing is make sure it is something that isn’t inappropriate because that could really affect your lif...

Fantasy Reading Response- The Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe In the book The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis the big idea of the story was power. The theme of the story is power is wonderful but dangerous. Another big idea of the story was sacrificing. Also another theme of the story is sacrificing yourself helps people. Power is wonderful but dangerous is one of the themes because the White Witch has a lot of power but she is evil which is not good so she can tell the people who work for her bad things to do. Which is not good because if that happens killing or arresting might come in. Sacrificing yourself helps is another theme because Alsan sacrificed himself to save Edmund who was under the power of the White Witch. So he went out and made a deal with the witch so then he was killed. So Edmund came but to normal not on a spell because Aslan was dead. But Aslan came back alive because if the witch killed him he could live another life, so he did.    The story setting was in Na...

Historical Fiction Reading Response- The Fighting Ground

Hazel Ann’s Historical Fiction Reading Response! In the book The Fighting Ground by AVI.      The summary of the story is that Jonathan really wants to go to war, and finally he gets a chance to do so. Than he lost his team and the Hessian were going to hit him, but didn’t. After a little time he found his team, Jonathan had a hard choice to help the Hessian’s or kill them. He chose to help the Hessian’s because they helped him. The big idea of the story was trust and the theme was trusting someone might be scary.  My connection to this is that whenever I trust my mom with something I feel a little scared at first because now it’s up to them to do what they’re suppose to do. I think that Jonathan was a little scared about the Hessian’s shooting him, but trusted the hessian more when he told him to come with them. ‘“Don’t shoot!” he cried. The soldier’s leveled their guns at him. He’s only a boy. “Come on, he’s so scared he’s making it into his pant...
