Character Extension Blog Post Rain Reign In the book Rain Reign , by Ann M.Martin, Rain has some big emotions. We learned from Rain that she has actually another family. How Rain felt when she had to leave Rose. Rain could go to her original family. She has to fight the sadness to leave Rose for her family. I wonder how Rain looks? How she acts? How she speaks? Really important, How she thinks?   Rose’s dad brought home a dog, it’s name is Rain. Rose loves Rain very, very much. One day on a stormy day, Rain got lost in the storm. The family was madly was looking for her. Though when they got to one place they found out that Rain belongs to another family called The Henderson. Some of Rain’s character traits are friendly, sad, happy, and angry. She is friendly because she loves Rose dearly. Sad because she has to leave Rose. Happy because she is going back to her family. Finally she is angry when Rose’s Dad was yelling at Rose. I think ...

Sending and Tchoukball Reflection

Image
      1. Write two things you did well when throwing the ball? 2. Write two things you could improve on when throwing the ball? 3. Did you notice any improvement? 4. How well did you apply your sending skills when playing Tchoukball? The two things I did well were pointing at the target. Also my feet where one was at the side and the other was in front. That is good.   What I improved in sending is moving my hips, instead of just stand still and moving my arms. This is so I can have more power throwing. Also, getting my hand to my pocket.  I notice that their was some improvement. The improvement was I was pointing my finger at my target so I get good aim, and have more power.   I applied most of the skills in Tchoukball. I normally have my hand higher than my head. I had a lot of power as well. So, yes I think I did a pretty good job of applying these skills in Tchoukball.

Measurement of Matter Science Reflection

Image
In science class we have been learning about measurement of matter. Now, we have just finished our unit of measurement of matter. This reflection is going to cover what new things I learned, what was the most memorable and meaningful and why? Some new things that I learned in this unit was a lot. Like  how to measure volume of an irregular object. Also, how to measure the mass of an object. Another thing is what is density. Finally, how to find density? I found out how to all of those at the end of the unit. It was very interesting how they worked, and why? I had no idea and no since I know I can remember it and have it for my life.  Though, the most important thing that I thought was how to find the volume of the irregular shape. Well, you can find the volume of an irregular object with water displacements. Their are two methods to find the volume of a irregular object. The first way is to get a graduated cylinder,  and the object. First you can put some water in the g...

Final Scripted Performance

I think I had pretty good projection when I was playing my part. It was loud but, I was not shouting it. I also think my audience could hear me clearly. My vocal variety was good but I could put some more vocal variety in, to make it more dramatic. Like go up and down with the pitch, put more emphasis in it also. I used my facial expressions well, but maybe instead when the other's are talking look out more to the audience instead. I liked how I pointed at myself when I said me. If I do face expressions and nobody see's me, then what's the point of doing the face expressions.  As a group I am proud. This is because all of us spent a lot of time working on it. Trying to get it as best as we can, and getting to be better all the time. One thing though I would change if I could do it over, is try to face the audience more when the other characters are speaking. We practiced back stage to help us ...

Fraction Comparison Reflection

Today in math class we learned a variety of ways to compare fractions. Their are three ways, one is to reason, another is to lower common denominator, and finally cross product/cross multiplication.       The first one is to reason. Well, when is it a good time to use reasoning? It is good to use reasoning when the fractions are easy, simple, and obvious.   An example is: 13/24     and    30/50   Well, we know 24 divided      50 divided by 2=25. 30-25=5.  by 2= 12. 13-12=1. So 13/24 so which one is greatest is obvious. is very close to one half.            So, the greatest factor is 30/50. Another method is, the LCD ( lower common denominator). When is it a good idea to use LCD? It is good when the lower common denominator has the higher denominator is one of their multiple. Basically sayi...

Sportsmanship - on the sporting field and in everyday life

Image
Sportsmanship means be respectful, being fair, caring, and a lot more things. An example of good sportsmanship that I've done was when one of my teammates scored a goal in floor hokey I said, "Nice shot, that was awesome."  Three ways I can demonstrate good sportsmanship is saying things like nice job when the hit a shot, I will not bragging if my team won, and when my teammate makes a mistake say it's okay, you did your best that you could do.  Two ways in everyday life I can demonstrate good sportsmanship is caring, like if I bump into someone I'll help them up and ask if they are okay. Also, if somebody drops their pencil, I won't steal it because that's not fair, I will give it back to them.  One new way I could do is say thank you after a game. This is because if they didn't play with me, this game would've never happened. So, I will try to say thank you after a game, or if anyone helps me out.
